OutSport Toronto has had the pleasure and privilege of working with some fantastic partners over the last year, and U of T's Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education is certainly at the forefront of that group. Yesterday, the Faculty launched its first Athlete Ally Week, one of several ways the U of T sports community is speaking out against homophobia and creating welcoming spaces on campus for queer athletes and their allies. When the CEO of TO2015—the organizing committee for the 2015 Pan Am/ParaPan Am Games—offers you a role in one of the largest multi-sport events ever to take place on Canadian soil, it’s not something you take lightly. OutSport Toronto Chair Shawn Sheridan and I met last week with community outreach representatives from the 2015 Pan/ParaPan American Games, set to take place in Toronto from July 10-26, 2015 (Pan Am Games) and August 7-14, 2015 (ParaPan Am Games).
