Pride at Toronto 2015

On 23 November 2012, OUTSPORT TORONTO took part in a day-long workshop hosted by the Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies, Hart House, the Sexual and Gender Diversity Office, the Anti-Racism and Cultural Diversity Office, the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education at the University of Toronto, and Egale Canada.

The afternoon had two panel sessions.  The first, entitled, "What do we expect from the 2015 PanAmerican and Parapan American Games?  An ‘early brainstorm’ ", featured Paul Genest, Deputy Minister, Ontario Pan Am Secretariat, Louise Lutgens, Senior Vice President, Community and Cultural Affairs, Toronto 2015, Gordon Dunbar, Director, North America, Gay and Lesbian International Sport Association, Clinton Brown, Director, Gay and Lesbian International Sport Association, Shawn Sheridan, Chair, OutSport Toronto, and Matthew Cutler, Director of Development and Community Engagement, 519 Church Street as panellists.  The text of Shawn's address to the participants during that session is below.
