We've just set the date (Sunday, 29 April 2012), time (4:00pm), and location (Fuzion Resto-lounge and Garden on Church Street north of Wellesley) for OUTSPORT TORONTO's second Annual General meeting, and we want you to be there! The City of Toronto will host the 2012 Ontario Summer Games
from August 16 to 19, 2012. The 2012 Games will bring together approximately
2,500 athletes competing in twenty-eight sports in multiple venues across
Toronto and surrounding regions. The Games are geared to young athletes aged eleven to twenty-two and
present a unique opportunity for them to assess their potential for engaging in

planning to go to the worldOutgames in Antwerp in 2013, you might
want to consider registering now. The deadline for early registration is the
end of August 2011. The registration fee will increase on September 1st from €

Can you host? The Federation of Gay Games (FGG) will be holding its 2011 Annual
General Assembly in Toronto from October 21 to October 27. Details of this
event can be found on FGG’s website at http://www.gaygames.com/
under the tab ‘AGA 2011.’ OutSport Toronto is working with FGG to facilitate
billeting and other aspects of their visit to our city and encourages members of Toronto’s

The strength of any organization is found in the commitment of its members to the organization’s vision and mission. OutSport Toronto’s vision is to be the respected voice of LGBT sport. We all know that respect has to be earned, and the Board of Directors of OutSport is working hard in an effort to achieve that respect by focusing on its mission to serve and support LGBT amateur sport organizations in the Greater Toronto Area. One measure of an excellent fitness routine is the degree to which one cross-trains. The body is very good at remembering the demands placed on it, so as we continue to train in a certain discipline we find that our body becomes ‘conditioned’ to the demands of that regimen and our ability to persevere over longer periods of time increases. When we try a new athletic endeavour, we are often surprised that despite a high level of conditioning in one sport, we are challenged by another. Read more...
